Sisters Killed in Fresno County Crash: Family Speaks Out
URGENT UPDATE: A tragic crash in Fresno County, California, has claimed the lives of two sisters, sparking heartbreak within their family. The deadly incident occurred on Tuesday night, when 21-year-old Angelina Nino was speeding and failed to stop at a stop sign on Brawley Avenue, leading to a catastrophic turn off the road.
Reports indicate that Nino died instantly in the crash, while her 14-year-old sister Rayla Piedra was rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. A 27-year-old man in the vehicle was also injured and is currently hospitalized. This devastating loss has left their family reeling, and they are now speaking out about their grief.
Lorraine Quinonez, the girls’ aunt, expressed her heartache in a statement to Action News:
“So the weight of it all, it’s heavy, because it’s not just one, it’s both of them, both of our baby girls and we all helped raise them, so we all had a portion with them. I’m just trying to be as strong as I can for my sister.”
Rayla’s upcoming 15th birthday on November 8 adds to the family’s sorrow, as they reflect on the joyful celebrations that will never take place. The community is coming together to support the family during this tragic time.
A GoFundMe has been established to help cover funeral expenses, and many are encouraged to contribute. The family is grateful for the outpouring of support as they navigate the unimaginable pain of losing two beloved young lives.
Authorities are investigating the crash, and updates are expected as they gather more information. This story remains developing, and further details will be provided as they become available.
