Florida High School Football Playoff Bracket Pairings Announced Today!
UPDATE: The Florida High School Athletics Association (FHSAA) is set to announce the highly anticipated 2025 state high school football playoff bracket pairings today at noon via their official YouTube channel. In an effort to get the excitement rolling, The Sentinel has preemptively predicted the first-round matchups for November 14.
According to projections, four Orlando-area teams are expected to secure top seeds in their respective regions: DeLand, Edgewater, Jones, and Bishop Moore. This forecast hinges on Edgewater’s recent victory against Lakeland, which could propel them to the No. 1 seed in Class 5A. This surge would mark a significant achievement for the Orlando area, showcasing its competitive strength in high school football.
Edgewater’s remarkable season record of 10-0 places them in a prime position for postseason success, especially following their win against Boone (9-1). With Lakeland dropping to 8-2 and Delray Beach Atlantic (9-1) also suffering a loss, Edgewater’s ascent appears all but certain.
“If our projections hold true, the playoffs will see exciting rematches, including three in Region 1,” noted analysts at The Sentinel.
In the 7A bracket, four rematches are anticipated: Hagerty at Lake Mary, Seminole at Spruce Creek, and Winter Park at Boone. Previously, Lake Mary overwhelmed Hagerty with a decisive 55-17 win, while Boone edged past Winter Park 44-38. Seminole also triumphed over Spruce Creek, then undefeated, with a narrow 16-10 victory.
Another notable match will see Ocoee travel to West Orange, who won their prior encounter 21-14. However, a crucial uncertainty looms over the 1A bracket as fans await a judge’s decision regarding The First Academy’s playoff ban. This situation adds an intriguing layer to the playoff landscape, with updates expected soon.
As of now, 22 Orlando teams are poised for playoff action. Should The First Academy be cleared for participation, they could potentially rise to the No. 3 seed, following their stunning upset over Lakeland. This would set them up for a first-round home game against Lakeland Christian (8-2), dramatically reshaping the playoff field.
The final matchups are yet to be confirmed, but the excitement builds as fans prepare for the official announcement. The Sentinel’s projections are not the definitive playoff matchups but are generating buzz across the community.
Here’s a snapshot of the predicted first-round matchups:
Class 7A, Region 1
8 Creekside (4-6) at 1 DeLand (10-0)
7 Hagerty (6-4) at 2 Lake Mary (7-3)
6 Seminole (5-5) at 3 Spruce Creek (8-2)
5 Winter Park (5-5) at 4 Boone (9-1)
Class 6A, Region 1

7 Oviedo (8-2) at 2 Buchholz (9-1)
6 Evans (8-2) at 3 Pace (9-1)
