Linnie (Lee) Virgil, 103, Remembered for Lifelong Service

Linnie (Lee) Virgil, a dedicated volunteer and beloved matriarch, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 103 in Marietta, Georgia. Born on March 2, 1922, in Burns, Kansas, she spent 69 years of her life as a resident of Torrance, California, where she was well-known for her community service.

Throughout her life, Virgil made significant contributions to her community. She volunteered for 16 years at Little Company of Mary Hospital and dedicated another 10 years to the Meals on Wheels program. Her selfless efforts left a lasting impact on many lives, showcasing her commitment to helping others.

Virgil was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Virgil, whom she married for 26 years before his untimely passing at the young age of 49. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Virgil, of Tehachapi, California; her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Maggie Virgil, of Marietta, Georgia; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services held. Her ashes are to be released into the Pacific Ocean in the future, a reflection of her deep connection to the places she loved.

Virgil’s legacy is one of compassion and dedication, and she will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and community members who were touched by her generous spirit. As a testament to her life, those who knew her celebrate the years of service she provided and the warmth she brought into their lives.
