UPDATE: Funeral arrangements have been confirmed for Patrick Brady, a dedicated 11-year veteran of the FDNY, who tragically lost his life while battling an all-hands fire in Brooklyn on Saturday night. Brady’s wake is set for Friday, November 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Marine Park Funeral Home in Brooklyn. The funeral will take place at the Church of St. Francis de Sales in Belle Harbor on Saturday, November 15, at 11 a.m., and will be streamed live on the FDNY website.

Brady, aged 42, was performing his duties on the roof of a fire at 9407 Kings Highway when he suffered a medical episode leading to cardiac arrest, according to officials. Fellow firefighters and FDNY EMS responded immediately, transporting him to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

In a poignant tribute, fellow firefighters and first responders gathered at Brady’s firehouse in Brownsville on Sunday morning for a bunting ceremony to honor his exceptional life and service. Earlier that day, Brady received a dignified transfer, underscoring the profound respect held for him by his comrades.

Brady’s legacy runs deep within the FDNY; he is survived by his wife, Cara, and is part of a family of firefighters that includes two brothers, Jimmy and Brian, along with numerous cousins and uncles who also serve. A resident of Far Rockaway, Queens, Brady exemplified the spirit of New York’s Bravest.

As the community prepares to say goodbye, the impact of Brady’s loss is felt not only among family and friends but across the entire firefighting community. His dedication to serving others will be remembered as a testament to his character.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as the community comes together to honor Patrick Brady’s remarkable contributions to public service.
