UPDATE: A Provo man, Josue Daniel McBride, aged 32, has been arrested and charged with 12 felonies after allegedly attempting to entice an undercover officer posing as an adult male with a teenage nephew. The alarming incident was confirmed by the Lehi Police Department on November 10, 2025, and underscores a serious issue of child exploitation.

McBride faces severe charges, including two counts of enticing a minor, four counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and five counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor as well as distributing pornographic material. He is currently being held without bail at the Utah County Jail.

The investigation began on or about November 5, 2025, when an undercover officer created a post on the popular social media forum “utahgayhookup” on Reddit, indicating a sexual attraction to minors. McBride responded to the post, engaging in a disturbing conversation that revealed his intentions. The officer reported that during their discussions, McBride expressed a desire to see explicit images of the officer’s supposed nephew.

Court documents detail McBride’s alarming requests for nude photos and his references to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). He allegedly sent videos of minors in sexually explicit situations, including one involving a 10 to 12-year-old child being assaulted. This shocking exchange highlighted the serious risk posed by individuals seeking to exploit vulnerable children.

Detectives took swift action, apprehending McBride as he left his workplace just days later. Authorities emphasize the urgency of addressing such heinous acts, urging the public to report any suspected CSAM to law enforcement.

This case raises critical awareness about child safety and the dangers posed by online predators. As investigations continue, officials urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in protecting children from exploitation.
