Community Remembers Rosetta Whitson Walsh for Her Faith and Family

Rosetta Whitson Walsh, affectionately known as Rose, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Erwin, Tennessee. Born on May 9, 1939, she left behind a legacy marked by faith, devotion, and quiet strength. Surrounded by her family at the time of her passing, Rosetta will be remembered for her deep commitment to her loved ones and her active role in her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Walsh, and several siblings, including brothers Rassie, Robert, Ralph, and Ray Whitson, as well as her sister, Ruth Whitson Moseley. Rosetta is survived by her two daughters, Robin Montgomery (Chip) and Anette LeVeau (David), along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Rosetta took great pride in her role as a homemaker, demonstrating remarkable skills as a cook, seamstress, and gardener. Her home was a reflection of her meticulous nature, always well-kept and welcoming. She found joy in nurturing her family and creating an environment filled with love.

Active in her church, Valley Forge Free Will Baptist, Rosetta’s faith was a cornerstone throughout her life. She enjoyed participating in church activities and was a beloved member of the Young at Heart Ladies Class. Her dedication to her faith was matched only by her commitment to family, where she thrived on gathering loved ones and sharing special moments.

A funeral service will be held on December 28, 2025, at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church, led by Pastors Randy Johnson and Mark Potter. Family members will provide music, including the song “Just One Rose Is Enough.” The service will commence with a receiving of friends from 13:00 to 14:00, followed by the funeral service at 14:00. A graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
