Discover Comfort at Cinnamon Indian Cuisine in Midland
Cinnamon Indian Cuisine, located at 225 W Wackerly St, Midland, MI, offers a cozy dining experience featuring a diverse menu that emphasizes Indian comfort food. Opened in 2017, this family-owned restaurant has quickly gained a reputation for its warm atmosphere and high-quality dishes, making it a notable destination for both residents and visitors.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a cheerful ambiance accented with shades of yellow, red, and gold. The interior provided a comforting oasis on a chilly December evening. While I initially had the space to myself, a family arrived shortly after I sat down, yet the overall atmosphere remained tranquil throughout my meal. This calm setting is surprising given the quality of the offerings available.
Cinnamon Indian Cuisine provides a wide range of options, catering to various dietary preferences. The menu includes numerous vegetarian dishes, as well as selections featuring chicken, lamb, goat, and seafood. Diners can also indulge in biryanis, clay oven specialties, appetizers, and a selection of sides. The restaurant offers dine-in, carry-out, and catering services, with special lunch deals available on Thursdays and Saturdays.
As I reviewed the extensive menu, I decided to try a mango lassi priced at $4.95, a yogurt-based drink that is both refreshing and not overly sweet. I paired it with the paneer tikka masala for $15.95 and a side of dahi bhalla for $6.95. The lassi was delightful, providing the perfect balance of flavor while I awaited my main course.
The service was prompt, likely due to the quiet evening. My order arrived in just a few minutes. The paneer tikka masala featured succulent pieces of paneer—a type of cheese curd—swimming in a rich, spiced tomato and onion gravy. The dish was well-prepared, with the medium spice level offering an enjoyable kick without being overpowering. The mango lassi served as an excellent counterbalance to the spices, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The dahi bhalla added another layer to my meal, with its creamy, cool sauce enveloping hearty lentil dumplings, creating a refreshing contrast to the spiciness of the main dish. By the end of my visit, I felt completely satisfied, having enjoyed a harmonious blend of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors.
My total bill was just under $30, which, while slightly high for a single meal, reflected the quality and portion sizes offered. If I were seeking a more budget-friendly option, I could have opted for just the entrée. Nonetheless, the experience left a lasting impression, and I am eager to return to Cinnamon Indian Cuisine for another taste of their comforting dishes.
