Miss America will play a significant role in promoting the upcoming Miracle on Madison event, which supports the pediatric program at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The event is set to take place on December 6, 2023, and will occur on Madison Avenue, specifically between East 57th and East 86th Streets, starting at 17:00 local time.

The 39th annual Miracle on Madison event aims to raise funds for children battling cancer. Former Miss New York, Donegan, who was crowned Miss America on September 7, will make a special appearance on Tuesday. She will join officials from Memorial Sloan Kettering, therapy dogs from their Caring Canine program, and local holiday carolers at the intersection of Madison and 63rd Street. During the event, Donegan is expected to perform a holiday song, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Participating stores along Madison Avenue will contribute to the cause by donating 20 percent of sales made during the event, with each store’s contribution capped at $15,000. This initiative encourages shoppers to support the pediatric program while enjoying a unique shopping experience. Stores will showcase special “miracle” gifts, providing treats and special programming to enhance the festive shopping environment.

Shoppers can identify participating stores by following blue and white balloons along Madison Avenue. For those unable to attend in person on December 6, a Miracle Personal Shopper service will be available. Interested customers can reach out via phone or email to retailers listed on the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) website.

The Miracle on Madison event has become a cherished holiday tradition in New York City, blending philanthropy with community engagement. It offers a unique opportunity for shoppers to contribute to a vital cause while enjoying the holiday season. Organized by the Madison Avenue BID, the event not only aims to raise funds but also fosters a spirit of giving and togetherness among participants.

As the holiday season approaches, events like Miracle on Madison highlight the importance of community support for essential programs like those at Memorial Sloan Kettering. This partnership between local businesses and charitable organizations exemplifies how festive activities can have a meaningful impact on children in need.
