UPDATE: An alligator was seized in a shocking drug trafficking bust in Buffalo, N.Y. earlier this week. The Erie County Sheriff’s Office uncovered the exotic animal while executing a search warrant at 28 Montclair Avenue, where they discovered a large alligator in a makeshift pool inside a backyard shed.

Authorities reported that the shed was equipped with lighting and heating devices, indicating an effort to care for the alligator, nicknamed Albert. This unusual discovery ties into a larger investigation, where police also found suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia on the premises.

Jerry Green, a 38-year-old resident of nearby Depew, has been charged with multiple drug offenses, including fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts each of third-degree and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Residents are advised to stay alert as the investigation unfolds, and further updates will be provided. The community’s response to this bizarre incident underscores the urgent need for awareness about both illegal drug activities and the implications of exotic pet ownership.
