Charlotte M. Seim, Beloved Community Figure, Passes Away at 89

URGENT UPDATE: Charlotte M. Seim, a cherished figure in Guilderland, NY, has passed away at the age of 89. Her family confirmed that she died on November 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and community spirit.

Born on February 26, 1936, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Clyde and Jennie (Travis) Woodard. Known for her vibrant personality and quick wit, she dedicated her life to her family and her community. Charlotte spent many years working at Travelers Insurance Company, where she met her late husband, William R. Seim.

Charlotte was a familiar face at the Baptist community, frequently seen walking the halls and engaging with residents. Her love for shopping and attending craft fairs was well known, and she actively participated in crafts and activities at her home, making her a beloved member of the community.

Charlotte is survived by her children: Donna (Ronald) Healt, William (Debra) Eggleston III, Richard (Cheryl) Eggleston, Michael (Rose) Eggleston, and Guy (Susan Jacobson) Eggleston. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was predeceased by her first husband, William Eggleston Jr., her grandson Ryan Healt, and her four sisters, Eunice, Dorothy, Rita, Flora, along with her brother William.

The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Baptist Health and Community Hospice, particularly Brittany and her team, for their exceptional care and support during Charlotte’s final days.

Visitation will occur on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., following a gathering at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Charlotte will be interred at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland, NY.

Charlotte M. Seim’s passing marks a profound loss for her family and the community, but her spirit and contributions will continue to be remembered and celebrated.
