UPDATE: Giannis Antetokounmpo made a triumphant return, scoring 25 points and dishing out 18 assists to propel the Milwaukee Bucks past the Charlotte Hornets, 147-134, in a thrilling overtime matchup on November 14, 2025.

The game, part of the NBA Cup, showcased a fierce battle, with both teams eager to clinch a win after splitting a recent home-and-home series. Antetokounmpo’s performance was critical, especially after sitting out Wednesday’s game due to left knee issues that had sidelined him with patellar tendinopathy.

Former Milwaukee high school star, Kon Knueppel, shined in his hometown debut, scoring a season-high 32 points. Knueppel’s clutch shooting included two late tying three-pointers, the last of which brought the Hornets even at 129 with just 21 seconds remaining in regulation.

Despite Antetokounmpo’s air-ball at the buzzer, sending the game into overtime, the Bucks rallied in the extra period. Kyle Kuzma led Milwaukee with 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Ryan Rollins contributed 20 points. The Bucks improved to 8-5 overall and 2-0 in NBA Cup play.

On the other side, the Hornets fell to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the tournament. LaMelo Ball added 16 points and 10 assists, with Moussa Diabate contributing 15 points and 11 rebounds. Despite a homecoming performance, Pat Connaughton struggled, failing to score in his first game in Milwaukee since being traded.

The Bucks will look to build on this momentum as they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Hornets are set to host the Oklahoma City Thunder in their next outing.

This electrifying game not only highlighted the skills of both teams but also marked a significant moment for local hero Knueppel, making his mark in the NBA spotlight. Fans and analysts alike will be eager to see how both teams perform in their upcoming matches, adding another layer of excitement to the ongoing NBA season.
