New Mexico Class Action Slams Drake, Adin Ross Over Online Casino

BREAKING: A new class action lawsuit filed today in the Second Judicial District Court of New Mexico targets Drake, popular influencer Adin Ross, and online gaming platform Stake.us for allegedly running an illegal online casino scheme. Plaintiffs claim this operation, marketed to New Mexico residents, violates state gaming and consumer protection laws.

The lawsuit names Sweepsteaks Limited as the primary defendant, asserting it conducts online gambling that is outright illegal under New Mexico statutes. According to court documents, Stake.us is described as a “virtual clone” of Stake.com, specifically rebranded to mislead users into thinking it offers safe gameplay.

This urgent legal action comes just days after a similar lawsuit was filed in Missouri, where plaintiffs accused the same defendants of promoting the illegal online casino. In both cases, the lawsuits demand the return of gambling losses, punitive damages, and an immediate halt to the alleged unlawful activities.

“Stake.us is marketed to New Mexicans as a so-called ‘social casino’ that does not permit real gambling,” the New Mexico complaint states.

According to the filings, Stake.us employs a dual currency system. Users are allegedly informed that Gold Coins have “no real-world value” but are encouraged to purchase Stake Cash, which can be wagered and cashed out for real money at a 1:1 ratio to the U.S. Dollar. This has led plaintiffs to argue that Stake.us should be classified as an illegal gambling device under both New Mexico and Missouri laws.

Drake, who has faced increasing scrutiny this week, is being held personally accountable for the gambling losses of class members. The complaint, filed on October 30, 2025, is particularly alarming as it seeks to include all New Mexico residents who have lost money on Stake.us over the past five years.

Adin Ross has publicly responded to the allegations during a livestream, calling the claims “bullsh*t” and urging viewers to read the case documents for themselves. He stated, “There’s nothing to talk about,” dismissing the lawsuit’s legitimacy.

As of now, Drake has not made any public comments regarding the lawsuit. A spokesperson for Stake.us stated, “We have not been served at this time … We reject allegations made in the media and will vigorously defend against these claims.”

This developing situation raises serious questions about the legality of online gambling practices in the United States, particularly as influencers play a pivotal role in promoting these platforms to vulnerable audiences.

Moving forward, this case will likely gain significant attention as it unfolds in the courts, especially with the potential implications for online gaming laws across multiple states. Stake.us and the influencers involved face a critical juncture, as legal scrutiny intensifies.

Stay tuned for ongoing updates as this urgent situation develops and more details emerge from the courts.
