UPDATE: The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is set to launch its highly anticipated Santa Tracker on December 24 at 6 a.m. EST, allowing families worldwide to follow Santa’s magical journey in real-time. This beloved tradition, which started from a misdial in 1955, continues to bring joy to millions every holiday season.

Families can directly engage with the Santa Tracker by calling 877-446-6723 to speak with operators who will provide live updates on Santa’s location. With more than 1,000 volunteers, including U.S. and Canadian service members, staffing the Santa Operations Center at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, this event promises to be a heartwarming highlight for children and adults alike.

As Christmas Eve approaches, service members and local participants prepare to answer hundreds of thousands of calls from eager children around the globe. NORAD’s Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell emphasized the significance of this event, wishing holiday cheer and gratitude to service members everywhere.

This festive tracking tradition began when a child mistakenly dialed the Continental Air Defense Command, leading duty officer Col. Harry Shoup to play along and establish a connection that has endured for nearly seven decades.

Operators will be available until midnight on Christmas Eve, ensuring that children can learn about Santa’s whereabouts and experience the magic of the season.

Stay tuned to Newsweek for live updates as we track Santa’s journey across the globe. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to engage with a cherished holiday event that unites families and communities in celebration. Share the joy and excitement as Santa takes to the skies!
