Veterans Day 2023: 40 Restaurants Offer Free Meals and Discounts
UPDATE: As Veterans Day approaches on November 11, 2023, restaurants nationwide are stepping up to honor veterans and active-duty service members with free meals, discounts, and special offers. This year, over 40 chains are participating, making it easier than ever for those who served to enjoy a delicious meal on their special day.
From Applebee’s offering free entrees to Wendy’s providing complimentary breakfast combos, the response from the restaurant industry is overwhelming. These initiatives not only express gratitude but also aim to make veterans feel valued and appreciated.
Applebee’s leads the pack by providing free full-sized entrees to active-duty military, veterans, reserves, and National Guard members, with seven delicious options available. Diners can choose from favorites like the 6-ounce top sirloin or classic bacon cheeseburger. In addition, Applebee’s is giving a $5 bounce-back card for future visits, redeemable within three weeks.
Blaze Pizza is also making headlines, offering a free one-topping pizza to veterans and active-duty personnel, while donating $1 from every pizza sold on the day to Folds of Honor, a nonprofit supporting military families’ education.
Many other chains are joining the movement. Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen will provide a free appetizer or dessert, and Chili’s is offering a free entree with a range of choices, including chicken bacon ranch quesadillas and three-count chicken crispers.
At Golden Corral, veterans can enjoy a complimentary buffet meal with a beverage from 4 p.m. to close. Meanwhile, Hard Rock Cafe will serve a free classic smash burger to all military members, who can also enjoy a 15% military discount on top of the offer.
Freddy’s, known for its tasty steakburgers, is gifting all veterans with a free combo meal card, valid through December 31. Texas Roadhouse is providing meal vouchers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Veterans Day, ensuring veterans have a chance to enjoy a hearty meal.
The emotional impact of these offers cannot be overstated. Veterans and active-duty personnel often face challenges after serving, and these gestures of goodwill provide a sense of community and gratitude that is so crucial.
As more restaurants announce their plans, it is essential for veterans to check local listings and verify participation. Many offers vary by location, and some may require a valid military ID.
With the clock ticking down to Veterans Day, diners are encouraged to share their experiences and tag their favorite participating restaurants on social media. The ripple effect of these acts of kindness can inspire even more businesses to show support, making this Veterans Day a memorable one for those who have served.
Stay tuned for the latest updates as more restaurants finalize their offerings for this significant day. Be sure to take advantage of these generous gifts and celebrate the heroes among us!
