Victor Oladipo Joins Wisconsin Herd in Urgent Comeback Move
BREAKING: Two-time NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo is making a significant move to revitalize his career by joining the Wisconsin Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks’ G League affiliate. The Herd confirmed the acquisition just hours ago, marking Oladipo’s first step back into competitive basketball since his last NBA appearance in the 2022-23 season.
Oladipo, 33, has faced considerable challenges since suffering a severe injury during the 2023 playoffs while playing for the Miami Heat. He tore his left patellar tendon in a matchup against the Bucks, sidelining him for an extended period. However, he joined the G League player pool over the weekend, signaling his readiness to return to the court.
The Santa Cruz Warriors claimed Oladipo after he entered the G League player pool, leveraging their waiver priority. They subsequently traded his rights to the Bucks in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick in the G League draft, indicating the Warriors’ strategic focus on future talent. This trade marks a pivotal moment not only for Oladipo but also for the Bucks, who are looking to bolster their roster with experienced players.
Despite being out of the NBA spotlight, Oladipo showcased his skills in preseason games last month with the Guangzhou Loong-Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association. His career statistics speak volumes: averaging 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game on 44% shooting during his decade-long NBA career. Notably, he earned All-Star honors in consecutive years, 2018 and 2019.
This move is crucial for Oladipo as he aims to regain his form and make a successful comeback to the NBA. The Herd’s coaching staff and fans are eagerly anticipating his impact on the team. As competitive G League action heats up, all eyes will be on Oladipo to see if he can translate his talent into performance, ultimately paving the way back to the NBA.
Stay tuned for updates as Oladipo begins this new chapter with the Wisconsin Herd and continues his journey toward recovery and return to professional basketball.
