Jaguars Center Hainsey Returns for Wembley Clash Against Rams
The Jacksonville Jaguars welcomed back center Robert Hainsey for their matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on March 15, 2024, at Wembley Stadium. Hainsey, a team captain, had been sidelined during last week’s 20-12 loss to the Seattle Seahawks due to a hamstring injury. His return was crucial for the Jaguars, who struggled offensively in his absence.
Hainsey’s impact on the game was immediately evident. In their previous outing against the Seahawks, the Jaguars managed only 59 rushing yards, and quarterback Trevor Lawrence faced significant pressure, being sacked a career-high seven times. His presence on the field was anticipated to bolster both the offensive line and the running game.
In addition to Hainsey’s return, the Jaguars faced several challenges with other key players missing the trip to London. Linebacker Devin Lloyd, who earned the title of AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September, and tight end Quintin Morris (groin) were both inactive. Other players not participating included safety Kahlef Hailassie, running back Cody Schrader, offensive lineman Wyatt Milum, and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders Sr..
The Rams also dealt with injuries, notably losing star receiver Puka Nacua due to an ankle issue. Right tackle Rob Havenstein was also ruled out for the game with an ankle injury. Additional inactive players for Los Angeles included quarterback Stetson Bennett IV, running back Jarquez Hunter, offensive lineman Beaux Limmer, and defensive end Desjuan Johnson.
As both teams took the field at Wembley, the stakes were high, with the Jaguars looking to turn their season around against a formidable Rams squad. The return of Hainsey was a pivotal moment for Jacksonville, aiming to improve on their recent performance and capitalize on the Rams’ injury setbacks. The excitement of NFL football in London added to the anticipation surrounding this international matchup.
