Ayden Pouncey Takes No. 1 Spot in 2026 Super60 Rankings
UPDATE: Winter Park athlete Ayden Pouncey has surged to the No. 1 position in the Sentinel’s 2026 Central Florida Super60 recruiting rankings, just as the team gears up for the critical Class 7A state playoffs. Pouncey, a standout senior, has showcased extraordinary talent, propelling his team into playoff contention with a stellar performance this season.
Pouncey’s impressive stats include 15 touchdowns, with a remarkable six interceptions on defense, returning five of those for touchdowns. His offensive contributions are equally significant, with 30 receptions totaling 634 yards and another seven touchdowns. He leads Winter Park with 1,018 total yards, proving crucial for the Wildcats’ playoff aspirations.
“I definitely feel like I deserve it, but I’m just blessed to be in this situation,” Pouncey said, reflecting on his recent achievements. The safety and receiver is committed to Notre Dame and is eager to make an impact on both sides of the ball.
Winter Park’s coaches have recognized the importance of getting the ball into Pouncey’s hands. With a current record of 5-4, the Wildcats are ranked No. 5 in the Class 7A, Region 1 rankings by the FHSAA. If they maintain this ranking, they will face Lake Mary (6-3) in the first round of the playoffs next week.
“Really, my goal every time I touch the ball is to score,” Pouncey stated. “It’s been really exciting and a lot of times it helps my team get in position to win.”
Pouncey’s rise to the top spot displaces Dereon Coleman, a talented player who remains a force in the rankings. Coleman has led Jones to a 7-2 record, currently ranking No. 1 in Class 4A, Region 2. He has thrown for 1,525 yards and 16 touchdowns with a remarkable completion rate of 76.2%.
Following Pouncey and Coleman, the Top 5 includes Li’Darious Pryor, an uncommitted running back from Evans, Izayia Williams, an FSU commit from Tavares, and Larry Miles from Jones, who is headed to Nebraska.
