St. Charles North Stars Shine in 2025 Girls Volleyball All-Area Team

BREAKING: The 2025 Beacon-News/Courier-News Girls Volleyball All-Area Team has just been announced, showcasing the exceptional talent from local high schools. Four standout players from the dominant St. Charles North have been highlighted in the first and second teams, signaling their impressive season.

Freshman Camryn Boyd of South Elgin led her team with a remarkable 291 kills, along with 178 digs, 35 aces, and 24 blocks. Her performance earned her Honorable Mention All-State and All-Conference accolades. Meanwhile, senior Haley Burgdorf from St. Charles North made headlines with an astounding 435 kills, 198 digs, and 52 aces, securing her spot as a First Team All-State player and committing to Penn State.

Sophomore Rylie Carlson from Newark also shone brightly with 262 kills and 214 digs, earning First Team All-State recognition. Senior Paige Genke, the setter for South Elgin, recorded an impressive 579 assists, culminating in a total of 1,536 career assists.

Other notable players include Hannah Herrick from Oswego, who achieved 326 kills and 256 digs, and Elizabeth King from Hampshire, who surpassed 1,000 career kills.

This year’s All-Area team reflects not only individual excellence but also the spirit of competition in the DuKane Conference. Each player has contributed significantly to their teams, demonstrating skill and dedication throughout the season.
