UPDATE: New data from moving company Atlas Van Lines reveals that Arkansas is the surprising leader in attracting movers for 2025, with a staggering 68% of inbound moves. This latest report, tracking migration patterns from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025, highlights significant shifts in where Americans are relocating.
The study shows that the Sun Belt remains a prime destination for movers, but the Midwest is also gaining traction, demonstrating a diverse trend in state-to-state migration. Despite only 2.1% of Americans changing addresses from one state to another last year, roughly 7 million people made the leap, emphasizing the ongoing movement across the nation.
