UPDATE: Significant road closures and construction projects are impacting Boulder County this week, from November 1-7, 2023. Residents and commuters should prepare for delays and detours as multiple essential projects are underway.

28th Street Improvements: A major enhancement project on 28th Street between Pearl and Iris is in progress. Northbound traffic at Valmont Road RTD Stop No. 17992 serving routes 205 and BOLT will be redirected to just south of the Valmont intersection. This change is set to last until December 31.

19th Street Underpass Construction: Starting this week, crews will close northbound 19th Street between Sumac and Upland for the replacement of the bridge over Fourmile Canyon Creek. A new bike and pedestrian underpass is also being constructed. Detours for vehicles and RTD services will utilize Quince, with work expected to continue until April 1, 2024.

Waterline Replacement on 63rd Street: The City of Boulder is undertaking a major waterline replacement project affecting 63rd, Andrus, and 62nd Streets. Full closures will be in effect between Jay and Valmont until February 2024, allowing only local and business access. Additionally, full closures on 63rd Street between Jay Road and Twin Lakes Road will take place through mid-November due to culvert replacement.

Milling and Paving on Colo. 7: Preparations continue on Colo. 7 with milling and paving operations expected to last through late October, culminating on December 15. Expect alternating double-lane closures in both directions between 28th Street and Cherryvale Road from 7 a.m. to midnight, Monday to Friday.

Sugarloaf Road Culvert Replacement: Lane closures on Sugarloaf Road at Betasso Road are anticipated as two culverts are replaced, with a temporary three-way traffic signal installed. Travelers should expect some delays, with work continuing into November.

Erie Parkway Traffic Signal Installation: Lane closures are also happening on Erie Parkway and Glacier Drive as traffic signals are installed. This project is scheduled to extend through December, with disruptions occurring on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Prince Lake Dam Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation work on the Prince Lake Dam at 111th Street and Flatiron Meadows Boulevard continues, with the project expected to run until March 2026. While no lane closures are planned, brief delays may occur due to construction vehicles accessing the site.

Weld County Road Closures: Maintenance work will fully close WCR 1.5 between Erie and WCR 3, and WCR 3 between WCR 10 and 10.5 through November 26. These closures will remain in effect 24 hours a day.
