Sally J. Ifkovits, Beloved Community Leader, Passes Away at 62

URGENT UPDATE: Sally J. Ifkovits, a cherished member of the Northampton community, has passed away at the age of 62. She died peacefully on November 20, 2025, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Sally was best known for her 32-year career with People First Federal Credit Union, where she rose from member services manager to card and ATM operations manager. Her dedication to her work and the community made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Born on January 27, 1963, in Allentown, Sally was the daughter of the late Fred H. and Marion J. Rex. She celebrated 37 years of marriage with her husband, Michael J. Ifkovits, and was a devoted mother to their sons, Riley and his wife Kelly, and Alex and his wife Anna. Sally’s greatest joy was her grandson, Paxton, who was the light of her life.

Her passing leaves a significant void for her family, including her brothers, Keith Rex and Kevin Rex (wife Karen), sister Susie Weber (husband Harold), and brother-in-law Garry Christman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jane, and niece, Adrienne.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Reichel Funeral Home, located at 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley in her memory.
