URGENT UPDATE: Americans are being urged to act NOW as the deadline to claim compensation from a significant data breach settlement approaches. Landmark Admin, a third-party administrator for multiple insurance companies, has agreed to pay $6 million to settle claims related to a data leak that compromised sensitive customer information. The deadline to file claims is set for December 26, 2024, and those who miss it will lose their chance for compensation.

The data breach, which occurred between May 13 and June 17, 2024, affected clients of six insurance companies, including well-known names such as American Benefit Life Insurance Company and Capitol Life Insurance Company. Although Landmark Admin has not admitted to any wrongdoing, plaintiffs argue that the company failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to prevent the incident.

Those potentially affected by the breach can claim compensation of up to $2,500 by providing documented proof of out-of-pocket losses related to fraud or identity theft. Acceptable proof includes financial documents such as bank statements or credit reports. Claimants submitting claims without documentation can receive a smaller amount of up to $30, but this is subject to change based on the total number of claims.

Settlement administrators have already notified individuals who may have been impacted. If you believe your information was compromised, NOW is the time to take action. Missing the December 26 deadline means forfeiting your opportunity to receive compensation. The deadline for objections to the settlement payout has already passed on November 25.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for January 29, 2026, after which payments will be distributed to approved claimants. This is a crucial moment for those affected to secure their compensation, and immediate action is essential.
