Urgent: Exciting Events in Boulder This Saturday, Nov. 1

UPDATE: A vibrant lineup of events is taking place in Boulder today, Saturday, November 1, starting with a community Pack Walk at 10 a.m. at Foothills Community Park, located at 800 Cherry Ave.. Dog guardians are invited to join professional trainers from Syncro Drive Train, LLC and Blue Dog Behavior Training to help their pets learn to socialize safely with others. This event is not only a chance to help dogs become more neutral around people and other dogs but also supports the local Poso Dog Rescue community.

Following the Pack Walk, don’t miss the screening of the film “Midas Man” at 12:30 p.m. at the Dairy Arts Center, 2590 Walnut St.$18. This engaging biodrama stars Jacob Fortune-Lloyd as Brian Epstein, the visionary manager of The Beatles. The film explores Epstein’s journey as he transforms the music industry while navigating personal challenges, including his identity in a conservative environment.

At 3 p.m., the George Reynolds Branch will host a Teen Crafting for Change event, encouraging local youth to engage in crafting projects that support non-profit organizations. This initiative allows participants to earn volunteer credit for school while making a positive impact in the community.

Tomorrow, Sunday, November 2, the Dairy Arts Center will feature a family-friendly magic show at noon and 2 p.m., perfect for celebrating the spooky season. Tickets for the show range from $28-$40.

In addition, the Boulder Public Library will host a Writers Who Read event at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, where participants will explore new literary techniques through recent novels.

Looking ahead, on Monday, November 3, the NoBo Corner Library will facilitate a Pages and Paws event at 3:45 p.m., allowing children aged 5-12 to practice their reading skills with a licensed therapy dog in a supportive environment.

Later that evening, the Grusin Music Hall will host the CU Boulder Graduate Woodwind Quintet at 7:30 p.m., showcasing talented musicians from diverse backgrounds. Admission is free.

For those interested in engaging discussions, the Banned Books Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. to explore “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe, a critical work that has faced challenges.

Lastly, don’t miss the opportunity to see actor Giancarlo Esposito at Macky Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4. Known for his roles in “Breaking Bad” and “The Mandalorian,” Esposito will share insights from his career and personal experiences. Tickets are priced between $2-$17.
