The Fargo-Moorhead area is gearing up for a vibrant holiday season, offering a wide array of festive activities for residents and visitors alike. From enchanting markets to theatrical performances, the region promises to be bustling with events designed to celebrate the spirit of the holidays.

Christkindlmarkt kicks off the festivities, inspired by traditional European holiday markets. Set for November 28 through November 30 at the Fargo Civic Center, this event features a variety of performers, food vendors, and local craft artisans, inviting families to immerse themselves in holiday cheer. Visitors can enjoy the market from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

On December 2, the holiday social titled Miracle on Roberts Street will take place at Gallery 4 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., showcasing local artists and their work. Craft enthusiasts can participate in a series of workshops at SheyWest on December 12, 14, and 16, where various holiday-themed crafting classes will be held.

Another highlight is the Brewhalla Very Merry Holiday Craft Market, occurring on December 14 from noon to 6 p.m. This event will feature around 20 local crafters selling unique gift ideas. Additionally, workshops at Baker Garden & Gift running until December 18 will allow attendees to create their own holiday decorations, such as wreaths and centerpieces.

As the season progresses, special performances will captivate audiences. The FM Ballet will present the classic “Nutcracker” from December 18 to December 20 at the Festival Concert Hall, featuring beloved characters like the Sugar Plum Fairy and a dramatic battle scene.

Families can enjoy various interactive experiences as well. Photos with Santa will be available at West Acres Mall until December 24, while Stories with Santa takes place on November 29 and December 19, offering children the chance to hear Santa read his favorite tales.

The holiday season will also include community-focused events. The Holiday Kick-Off at the Hjemkomst Center on December 2 will feature carols and the lighting of Moorhead’s holiday tree, followed by festivities at Broadway Square that evening, where a 32-foot tree will be illuminated with Santa in attendance.

For those looking for light displays, Holiday Lights at the Fairgrounds will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through December 31, showcasing over a mile of dazzling decorations, while the Cookies with the Claus Family event on November 28 at the Fargodome promises a charming meet-and-greet experience with Santa.

The Fargo-Moorhead area is also home to festive movie screenings, such as the classic “White Christmas” at the Fargo Theatre on December 9. The community can enjoy a diverse lineup of concerts, including Mannheim Steamroller Christmas on December 13 at Scheels Arena and the Classic Christmas Concert series at local venues throughout the month.

With numerous events scheduled and a focus on community engagement, the Fargo-Moorhead area is set to provide a holiday season filled with joy, creativity, and togetherness. Whether attending a concert, participating in a craft workshop, or enjoying festive food, there are ample opportunities to celebrate the season.
