Boulder County Unveils Exciting Holiday Events for 2025
UPDATE: Boulder County has just announced a vibrant lineup of holiday events for the 2025 season. From stunning performances to festive gatherings, there’s something for everyone, ensuring families can create unforgettable memories together.
The highlight of the season is the “Extremely Wonderful New York Holiday Radio Show”, presented by the Rocky Mountain Revels at the Dairy Arts Center. This captivating production runs on December 21-22, 2025, with shows at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.. Tickets are available for $28.75 to $57.50 at thedairy.org.
This year’s show promises a unique twist, transforming a 1950s New York radio broadcast into a lively community celebration. The storyline revolves around a last-minute scramble as headlining performers fail to arrive, prompting a neighborhood of eager locals to step in. This blend of music, dance, and storytelling is designed to engage audiences of all ages, making it the perfect outing for families, including visiting grandparents.
The Revels tradition, established in 1971 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has thrived in Boulder since 2002. The performances, which are entirely volunteer-driven, bring together a diverse cast ranging from children to retirees. Executive director Darren Kelly emphasizes the community spirit, stating, “This is one of the few chances to see your friends and neighbors put on a professional show.”
In addition to the Revels, Boulder County’s holiday calendar is packed with exciting events. One such highlight is the CU Holiday Festival, running from December 5-7 at Macky Auditorium. This enchanting annual tradition showcases student choirs and orchestras, making it a must-see for music lovers. Tickets range from $25 to $80.
Families can also enjoy the heartwarming “Jeff and Paige’s Holiday Concert” on December 12 at 4 p.m. at Chautauqua Community House. This interactive show, priced at $35, is perfect for kids and includes a festive tree lighting ceremony.
For those seeking a more comedic take on the season, A John Waters Christmas will take the stage on December 14 at 8 p.m. at the Boulder Theater. Known for his sharp wit, Waters promises a night of laughter and holiday mischief with tickets priced between $66 and $79.
Don’t miss the Longmont Symphony Orchestra‘s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah on December 13, featuring a candlelight concert that has become a cherished tradition.
With so many engaging options, Boulder County’s holiday events cater to all interests and age groups. From classic performances to quirky shows, families can find the perfect way to celebrate the season together.
