A significant development occurred in the South Korean entertainment industry when singer RETA terminated her exclusive contract with Famous Entertainment, the agency associated with rapper San E. This decision followed an alarming incident involving a staff member from the agency, identified as Mr. Jeong, who unlawfully entered RETA’s residence and caused property damage.

The breach of trust has led to a tense situation between the singer and the agency. According to reports, the intrusion took place earlier this year, when Mr. Jeong allegedly accessed RETA’s home without her consent and tampered with her personal belongings. The police are currently investigating the matter, and it has now been referred to the prosecution.

RETA has asserted that she never provided her home’s access password to the agency, emphasizing that the unauthorized entry severely undermined her trust in Famous Entertainment. On March 2024, she filed a police complaint, accusing San E and a company representative of unlawful intrusion and concealment of property. In her statement, RETA claimed that while she was in China due to visa complications, San E allegedly directed a company representative to enter her home and remove furniture and other personal items.

The events have cast a shadow over San E, who has faced controversy in the past. He was previously investigated for allegedly assaulting a passerby with his mobile phone, resulting in facial and dental injuries to the victim. Following that incident, San E issued an apology via his legal representative. In March 2024, the prosecution decided to suspend indictment against him due to insufficient evidence.

This latest incident involving RETA has reignited scrutiny over San E and his agency, raising questions about the treatment of artists under their management. The fallout from RETA’s decision to end her contract is likely to have broader implications for Famous Entertainment and its reputation in the industry.

The situation remains fluid, and further updates are anticipated as the legal proceedings unfold.
