Trump Signs Law Requiring DOJ to Release Epstein Files Immediately
BREAKING: President Donald Trump has officially signed a law mandating the Department of Justice to release its files regarding the investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The announcement came late Wednesday evening, following a significant bipartisan effort in Congress.
In a fervent social media post, Trump declared, “I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!” This decisive action follows the Senate’s unanimous approval of the bill just a day earlier, making it clear that lawmakers are committed to transparency surrounding Epstein’s disturbing case.
The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly on July 11, 2023, with a staggering 427–1 vote to compel the release of these critical documents. The only dissenting voice came from Republican Rep. Clay Higgins, who stood alone against the tide of bipartisan support.
This urgent legislative move comes on the heels of intense scrutiny over Epstein’s connections and the implications for various high-profile individuals. Despite Trump’s previous attempts to distance himself from Epstein, who he reportedly knew in the 1990s, the pressure for accountability is mounting.
The bill’s passage was not without hurdles. Initially facing opposition from both Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson, supporters had to resort to a discharge petition to push it through the House, garnering 218 signatures, primarily from Democratic lawmakers.
This law will ensure that the public gains access to documents that could shed light on Epstein’s crimes and the extent of his network. The urgency of this release is underscored by the ongoing public interest in the Epstein case, which has ramifications for numerous influential figures.
Next steps: The Department of Justice is now required to act swiftly in releasing the files, and the implications of these documents could reverberate throughout the political and social landscape.
Stay tuned for further updates as this story continues to develop, and the public awaits the release of the Epstein files.
