Community Mourns the Loss of Aerospace Pioneer Raquel Rothweiler
Raquel Lorraine Rothweiler, a respected figure in the aerospace industry, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 84. Her sudden death has left her family and community in deep mourning. Born in 1941 in New Mexico, Raquel was known for her gentle spirit, hard work, and unwavering kindness. Throughout her life, she made a lasting impact on those around her, offering warmth, compassion, and support to anyone in need.
Raquel’s family was her greatest joy. She dedicated her life to nurturing her loved ones, pouring her affection into every relationship. Her son, George A. Rothweiler, daughter-in-law, Thayra, and grandchildren, Alek and Avery, will forever cherish her memory. Raquel’s presence provided comfort, and her love instilled strength, leaving a legacy that continues to resonate within her family and among all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Career Marked by Dedication
In addition to her family commitments, Raquel was immensely proud of her career in the aerospace industry. She worked for Northrop, where she played a crucial role in managing classified documentation for the B-2 Stealth Bomber program. Her dedication and professionalism were a source of pride not only for herself but also for her colleagues, who regarded her as an inspiration.
Raquel’s contributions to the aerospace sector exemplified her strong sense of responsibility and commitment to excellence. She was respected by her peers for her work ethic and integrity, which left a lasting impression on those who collaborated with her.

Raquel’s commitment to helping others extended beyond her family and career. In lieu of flowers, her family invites donations to several organizations that were particularly meaningful to her: the Southwest Indian Foundation, St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, and Father Flanagan’s Boys Town. These organizations reflect her values of compassion and support for those in need.
Family and friends are invited to honor Raquel’s life at a viewing scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00 at Loma Vista Mortuary, located at 702 East Bastanchury Road, Fullerton, CA 92835. This gathering will provide an opportunity for loved ones to share their memories and celebrate the rich life Raquel lived.
Raquel Lorraine Rothweiler will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her simple yet profound way of connecting with others. She often ended conversations with her favorite saying, “good talk,” encapsulating her warm and engaging personality.
