Community Mourns the Loss of James Michael “Little Jimmy” Smith

The community of Fairchance is mourning the loss of James Michael “Little Jimmy” Smith, who passed away at his home on November 13, 2025. He was 47 years old and is remembered for his dedication to local service as the Produce Manager at the Fairchance Shop-n-Save.

Born on December 16, 1977, James was the son of Michael and Georgia Jean Smith from nearby Uniontown. He spent many years working in the grocery industry, where he built strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike. His contributions to the Fairchance community were significant, and he will be deeply missed.

James is preceded in death by his father, Michael Smith, his mother, Georgia Jean Smith, and his younger brother, Michael Smith. The loss of these family members profoundly affected him, and he often spoke about the importance of family and community ties.

A memorial visitation will be held on November 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME in Fairchance. Friends, family, and community members are invited to pay their respects and celebrate James’s life during this time of remembrance.
