CU Buffs Women’s Basketball Falls 59-46 to Texas A&M in Hawaii
URGENT UPDATE: The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team suffered a disappointing 59-46 defeat against Texas A&M on November 25, 2025, at the George Q. Cannon Activities Center in Laie, Hawaii. This loss marks the end of CU’s four-game winning streak and highlights serious offensive struggles that could impact their season.
The Buffs (5-2) struggled offensively throughout the game, shooting a mere 34% from the field (18-of-53) and an alarming 21.1% from three-point range (4-of-19). A staggering 24 turnovers added to their woes, far exceeding their season average of 14.0.
CU started the game slowly, falling behind 10-1 within the first five minutes. However, Zyanna Walker sparked a comeback, scoring eight points during an 18-4 run that gave the Buffs a 23-19 lead before halftime. Walker led her team with 14 points and six rebounds, but the overall performance was insufficient to secure a win.
Texas A&M (5-1) showcased a dominant performance, led by Ny’Ceara Pryor, who scored a game-high 23 points, along with six assists and seven steals. Fatmata Janneh also made a significant impact, grabbing 15 rebounds and contributing eight points.
Despite a promising start to the second half that saw CU build a 34-27 lead, the momentum quickly shifted. The Aggies unleashed an 18-3 run, leaving the Buffs trailing 45-37 by the end of the third quarter. CU’s offensive drought lasted over six minutes, culminating in a devastating scoring slump that saw them only produce 12 points in the final quarter.
Looking ahead, the Buffs will return home to face Montana State at the CU Events Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. (ESPN+). They will need to address their turnover issues and improve their shooting percentages to reclaim their winning form.
As the season progresses, this loss serves as a critical reminder of the challenges ahead for the CU women’s basketball team. Fans will be eager to see how they bounce back in the upcoming game.
