Arlene Hartman, Beloved Community Member, Passes Away at 87
BREAKING: Arlene Hartman, a cherished resident of Telford, Pennsylvania, and a long-time member of the Sellersville community, has passed away at the age of 87. Hartman died on November 25, 2025, at the Lutheran Community in Telford, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.
Arlene was the devoted wife of the late Glenn Hartman, Sr., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage until his death in 2023. Known for her warm spirit and dedication to her community, she was actively involved in St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 60 years, where she sang in the choir and held various leadership roles, including serving as president of the WELCA for 25 years.
Her professional journey included positions at the Lutz Pants Factory and the former Emil’s Diner in Sellersville. Additionally, she worked as a consultant for Mary Kay and Avon before retiring as a cashier from Clemens Markets in 1997. Beyond her career, Arlene was a passionate gardener and an avid lover of antiquing, traveling, and collecting stamps, which highlighted her vibrant and engaging personality.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Nemecek, and her husband, James, as well as her sister, Margie Derstine, numerous nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends. She was predeceased by her son, Glenn Hartman, Jr., in 1996.
A viewing is scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. at St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 25 E. Church St., Sellersville, PA 18960. The funeral service will commence at 11 a.m., with livestream options available for those unable to attend in person. Following the service, Arlene will be laid to rest in Sellersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Arlene’s name to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church.
Arlene Hartman’s impact on her community and her family will be deeply missed, as she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and faithfulness. Her life serves as a reminder of the power of community and love.
