UPDATE: China Peak Ski Resort has been blanketed with up to six feet of snow, transforming the landscape just in time for the holiday season. This extreme winter weather hit Fresno County, California, with reports confirming three feet of snow accumulation at the base area. General Manager Troy Cohee describes the change as nothing short of miraculous, stating, “We went from dry ground to having a well solid base pretty much all over the mountain.”

The fresh snowfall was recorded just before Christmas, with video footage from December 24, 2023, showcasing the resort’s stunning transformation. Cohee emphasized the significance of early snowstorms, calling it a welcome Christmas gift for ski enthusiasts. “It’s fantastic to see the mountain go from zero to hero in about 48 hours,” he added.

The resort is gearing up to operate at full capacity by Saturday, making it an ideal destination for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and experience levels. Local skier Brittany Alvarez expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m so glad it’s powder and not hard compact slush. It’s really easy for beginners.”

Alvarez and her brother, Javen, drove up early Friday morning and were pleasantly surprised by the packed conditions. “I was expecting it to be a lot of slush,” Javen noted, reflecting the initial concerns from friends who had skied in the days prior. Instead, they found ideal conditions that made their trip memorable.

As the ski season kicks into high gear, Cohee warns visitors to prepare for busy days ahead. The influx of snow is expected to draw large crowds, making patience a must for those planning to hit the slopes.

With the season now officially underway, skiers can anticipate great conditions at China Peak Ski Resort. For real-time updates, follow local news sources and social media channels. Don’t miss out on this winter wonderland experience!
