ECHL Players Strike Delays Knight Monsters’ Upcoming Games

The strike has already had immediate repercussions for the Knight Monsters, with the team announcing the postponement of their game against Rapid City, originally scheduled for December 27, 2023.

In a statement addressing the situation, the Knight Monsters confirmed, “We wanted to provide a statement from the ECHL about collective bargaining with the PHPA and the union’s decision to force all ECHL players to go on strike. The union’s decision to force our players to stop working means that tonight’s game at Rapid City is postponed. We’re working to have a team on the ice for our next regularly scheduled game.” The next encounter is planned for December 31, 2023, although the ongoing strike raises questions about the feasibility of that match.
