Fight2Feed Urgently Seeks Volunteers to Combat Holiday Hunger
URGENT UPDATE: As Thanksgiving approaches, the Chicago-based nonprofit Fight2Feed is ramping up its efforts to combat hunger, calling for volunteers to step up during this critical holiday season. The organization is determined to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry, particularly as demand for food assistance surges.
Fight2Feed operates entirely on volunteer power, rescuing unused, uncooked, and prepared foods from local restaurants, grocery stores, and conventions. Since its inception on March 20, 2014, Fight2Feed has successfully served over 2 million meals and diverted more than 6 million pounds of food from landfills, directly benefiting the under-resourced and unhoused populations in Chicago and surrounding areas including Will, DuPage, and Lake Counties.
This holiday season, Fight2Feed is amplifying its outreach and urgently needs volunteers. Opportunities are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, providing a chance for community members to make a meaningful impact. “We hope to feed thousands this holiday season,” said a spokesperson for Fight2Feed. “Every hand helps, and we want to ensure that no one goes hungry.”
The organization partners with various local nonprofits that provide food, shelter, and essential resources to vulnerable communities, including immigrants and the unhoused. The upcoming days are crucial as volunteers work to prepare and distribute meals to those in need, especially as food insecurity remains a pressing issue.
To learn more about how to help or to sign up for volunteer shifts, interested individuals can visit [Fight2Feed’s official website](https://fight2feed.org/#volunteer-signup). This is a vital opportunity to contribute to a cause that affects thousands right in your community.
This Thanksgiving, let’s join together to fight hunger and make a real difference through our collective efforts. Share this call to action with friends and family to spread the word and help those in need during this holiday season.
