Fox News Host Critiques Dems Ahead of Massive No Kings Protests
UPDATE: Just days before the highly anticipated No Kings protests, Fox News host Jesse Watters has publicly criticized the left’s protest tactics, questioning their effectiveness. As approximately 2,500 anti-Trump rallies are set to take place across the United States on Saturday, Watters’ remarks add fuel to an already charged atmosphere.
“The Democrats, every time they do gather together, it’s not mostly peaceful,” Watters stated on Friday, referencing past events like the Black Lives Matter protests and unrest in Portland. His comments come as organizers prepare for a new wave of demonstrations against President Donald Trump’s policies, which they label as authoritarian.
The upcoming rallies mark a significant escalation in anti-Trump activism, following a massive turnout in June when over 5 million people protested in more than 2,000 cities. According to No Kings organizers, Trump has only intensified his controversial agenda since those protests, citing increased ICE raids and targeting of political figures such as former FBI director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James as primary motivations.
Watters contrasted these protests with the historical Tea Party movement, which he claims was more “organic” and effective. He stated, “Democrats are trying to do their little Tea Party thing. Ours was a little more organic. This seems a little more astroturfed.” This reference raises questions about the authenticity of the upcoming protests, echoing sentiments shared by some Republican lawmakers.
GOP Senator Roger Marshall has gone so far as to suggest that the protests will attract “paid actors” and members of Antifa and Pro-Hamas groups. “We’ll have to get the National Guard out,” he warned, expressing skepticism about the potential for peaceful demonstrations.
As the nation braces for the No Kings protests, emotions run high on both sides of the political spectrum. With an increase in expected protest sites, Watters remains unconvinced about the movement’s long-term impact, stating, “I don’t know if this has legs.”
As the clock ticks down to Saturday, all eyes will be on the streets as demonstrators gather to voice their dissent against the Trump administration. The stakes are high, and the atmosphere is charged as Americans prepare to engage in what could be one of the largest protest movements of the year.
