Radius Global Appoints Laura Fernandez as New Strategy Chief
Radius Global Infrastructure, Inc. has appointed Laura Fernandez as its new chief operating and strategy officer. This strategic appointment is designed to enhance the company’s execution capabilities as demand surges in the global digital infrastructure market. The announcement was made by Chief Executive Officer Scott G. Bruce, who emphasized that Fernandez will be pivotal in shaping and implementing the company’s long-term growth strategy.
New Role and Responsibilities
In her new role, Fernandez will report directly to the CEO and oversee global operations and strategic initiatives. She will focus on identifying new business opportunities and aligning the company’s priorities to foster sustainable value creation. Based in London, she will collaborate closely with executive and senior leadership teams across all regions as Radius Global expands its services to network operators, tower companies, and other digital infrastructure clients.
Bruce highlighted Fernandez’s unique blend of operational leadership, financial acumen, and extensive sector knowledge. Her experience within the telecom and digital infrastructure industries positions Radius Global to better meet customer demands in an increasingly competitive and capital-intensive environment.
Professional Background
Fernandez brings over 25 years of international experience, having worked across Europe, Latin America, and North America. Prior to joining Radius Global, she served as the chief executive officer of Ontix, a private equity-backed digital infrastructure firm based in the UK. Her previous roles include senior leadership positions at Telefonica, where she held significant responsibilities such as finance director for operations and transformation, as well as head of strategic planning at O2 in the United Kingdom. Additionally, she has experience as group financial controller and head of investments at Telefonica Europe, and she served as a non-executive director at Cornerstone.
The appointment comes at a time when the digital infrastructure sector is experiencing robust growth. Wireless carriers, data providers, and cloud-based enterprises are investing significantly in connectivity and network densification. Radius Global views Fernandez’s leadership as a critical element in executing its customer-centric strategy and disciplined operational approach as it embarks on its next phase of expansion.
As the company continues to adapt to the evolving landscape of digital infrastructure, Fernandez’s expertise is expected to play an essential role in navigating the challenges and opportunities ahead.
