Chinese Men Charged with Attempted Murder of Korean CEO
URGENT UPDATE: Two men have been charged with the attempted murder of a Korean CEO following a shocking incident in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon. Authorities confirm that the suspects, identified as Mr. A (38) and Mr. B (32), were planning to kidnap and rob the victim, a 61-year-old identified as Mr. C, in a premeditated attack.
The Incheon District Prosecutors’ Office announced today, November 26, 2023, that Mr. A, a naturalized Chinese citizen, has been indicted in custody on multiple charges, including attempted robbery-murder. Mr. B, a Chinese national, faces charges for aiding in aggravated robbery and preparation for robbery.
The chilling details of the case emerged after a thorough investigation revealed a plot that began in July 2023. Prosecutors reported that Mr. A attempted to kidnap Mr. C in the underground parking lot of an apartment complex. During the attack, Mr. A allegedly used a box coated with adhesive to blind Mr. C and struck him with a metal hammer, causing injuries that required two weeks of medical treatment.
The investigation intensified when prosecutors discovered evidence suggesting that the crime was premeditated. Mr. A had been stalking Mr. C and his family for approximately three months, accumulating tools and planning the attack. Additionally, Mr. B was found to have assisted in planning the crime and preparing necessary equipment, including a refrigerated truck and a stun gun.
In a twist of the investigation, authorities revealed that Mr. A had been in serious financial trouble, raising suspicions about his motives. They noted that he made inquiries about selling a large amount of cryptocurrency around the time of the planned attack.
The shocking nature of this case has raised alarms about public safety in the area, with officials confirming that Mr. A and Mr. B had even considered targeting additional victims. They were reportedly stalking a separate individual, Mr. D, who operates a gold shop featured on YouTube, preparing to steal gold bars and other valuables.
Fortunately, this second plot was thwarted before any crime occurred. Prosecutors are now focusing on the broader implications of these incidents as they investigate potential connections to organized crime.
What’s next? The trial is set to proceed as authorities continue to evaluate the full extent of the suspects’ activities. The community is urged to remain vigilant as investigations unfold.
