Hermosa Beach Kicks Off Holiday Season with Festive Celebrations
The annual “Hermosa for the Holidays” event marked its fifth anniversary over the weekend, celebrating the festive season in the South Bay. Concurrently, the “Rock for Tots” initiative celebrated its 20th year of giving back, with activities aimed at supporting local families and the community.
On November 23, 2025, Pier Plaza transformed into a vibrant hub of holiday cheer. Families were treated to a day filled with live music, festive activities, and the much-anticipated tree lighting ceremony. The event attracted numerous attendees eager to embrace the holiday spirit, highlighted by the arrival of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
Local musicians entertained the crowd, including performances from the Goldmans, featuring Scott Goldman and his grandson Oliver Goldman, and the band Rad Idea, with members Ayan Sadhal and Kai Rendes. Their musical contributions added to the celebratory atmosphere, drawing applause from festival-goers.
The event also featured the “Nonprofit Giving Village,” organized by the Hermosa Beach Chamber Foundation, which showcased various local nonprofits. This initiative allowed attendees to engage with charitable organizations and learn more about their missions. Additionally, the “Kids Creationz Market” provided young entrepreneurs from TK to 8th grade with a platform to showcase their creative endeavors.
The “Rock for Tots” event, founded by Jeremy Buck, brought together numerous South Bay musicians on Sunday. The concert raised funds for the Beach Cities Toy Drive and the Harbor Regional Center Holiday Fund, reinforcing the community’s commitment to supporting those in need. Buck expressed gratitude for the continued support from local artists and attendees, emphasizing the event’s importance in fostering community spirit.
Children enjoyed various activities, including the chance to meet Santa, who received heartfelt letters from young attendees like Luna Jackson, who was eager to share her holiday wishes. The Ferris wheel added a touch of excitement, as families, including Susana Almeida and her nephews, took in the festive sights from above.
Overall, “Hermosa for the Holidays” successfully combined entertainment, community engagement, and charitable initiatives, setting a joyful tone for the upcoming holiday season. As the event continues to grow, it remains a testament to the South Bay’s vibrant community spirit and commitment to giving back.
