Police Charge Second Suspect in Norwalk Storage Unit Burglary

UPDATE: Police have made a significant breakthrough in the burglary case involving 89 storage units in Norwalk, Connecticut, where approximately $23,000 worth of items, including firearms, were stolen. Authorities have charged a second suspect, Colt Meadows, age 22, of West Haven, following a thorough investigation that has spanned several months.

Meadows was apprehended on Tuesday at Stamford Superior Court after police secured a warrant for his arrest. He is facing a staggering array of charges, including five counts each of third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, along with multiple counts related to firearm thefts. His bond is set at $50,000, and he is expected to be arraigned today, Wednesday, according to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department.

The burglary took place on July 1, 2024, at the Cubesmart facility located at 162 Bouton St. Investigators have confirmed that a stolen .357 revolver from the incident has since been recovered in Branford. This recovery marks a critical development in the ongoing investigation.

Detectives initially identified Tylon Gardner, age 35, of Hamden, as a suspect earlier in the investigation. Gardner was arrested on September 10 and faces similar charges, including five counts of third-degree burglary and conspiracy-related offenses. His case is currently pending in Stamford Superior Court.

The police department has collaborated with several law enforcement agencies throughout their extensive investigation, highlighting the seriousness of the crime and the commitment to bringing all involved to justice.
