Common Data Platform Update: Sigma Computing Selected for Transition
The initiative to modernize campus data and reporting infrastructure has taken a significant step forward with the selection of Sigma Computing as the new enterprise reporting application for the Common Data Platform (CDP). This decision comes as InfoView, the current reporting tool, is set to reach its end of life in December 2027. The transition aims to create a more efficient and user-friendly environment for data management.
During this transition period, which extends until December 2027, InfoView will continue to operate in parallel with the new solution. This strategy is designed to ensure minimal disruption for users and to provide adequate time for the campus community to adapt to the new platform. The Data Management team will oversee the transition, focusing on maintaining support for both systems while gradually reducing additional services from the legacy data warehouse.
As part of the transition, enhancements to InfoView and the legacy data warehouse will cease. Although maintenance will continue to support both systems, only critical support for emergencies will be available. Existing account requests for InfoView will still be accepted, but new service requests will not be processed during the transition phase. The Data Management team will review open requests to determine their completion or deferral status.
Implementation Timeline and Future Support
The Data Management team is currently in the pilot phase of the implementation plan, which is expected to be finalized in the coming months. Users of InfoView can anticipate additional information regarding the implementation timeline, engagement strategies, and training to be shared in January. For those who do not currently use InfoView, updates and pertinent communications will be accessible on the CDP webpage.
Users are encouraged to remain informed throughout the transition process as the campus moves towards adopting a more modern and efficient data reporting solution with Sigma Computing. The focus remains on ensuring a smooth transition while minimizing disruptions to existing operations.
