The New England Patriots have announced that rookie left tackle Will Campbell will be placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury sustained during their recent victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed this decision on Wednesday, stating that Campbell will miss a minimum of four games. He is eligible to return in Week 18 against the Dolphins.

This move comes after Campbell’s impactful performance this season, which has been cut short by injury. The Patriots will now turn to Vederian Lowe to fill the left tackle position. Lowe stepped in for Campbell during the game against the Bengals and has a solid track record, having started 21 games for the Patriots over the past three seasons.

In response to Campbell’s injury, the team has also signed cornerback Miles Battle from the practice squad to bolster their defensive lineup. This comes after the recent placement of cornerback Alex Austin on injured reserve earlier this week, further highlighting the team’s ongoing adjustments as they navigate injuries.

As the Patriots prepare for their upcoming games, the focus will be on maintaining their competitive edge despite these setbacks. With Campbell sidelined, the coaching staff will be challenged to ensure that the offensive line remains effective in protecting the quarterback and facilitating the run game.

The Patriots’ next matchup will be crucial as they aim to build on their recent successes while adapting to their evolving roster. The team looks to continue its winning momentum, particularly as they face the Dolphins in what could be a pivotal game later in the season.
