Walter F. Currie, a respected engineer and family patriarch, passed away peacefully on **November 3, 2025**, at the age of **91**, following a courageous decade-long battle with cancer. Surrounded by loved ones, Currie leaves behind a legacy marked by his dedication to family, education, and the engineering profession.

Born in **Louisville, Kentucky**, on **February 11, 1934**, to **Floyd and Stella Currie**, he grew up as an only son in a family that valued hard work and knowledge. Currie’s journey began in earnest in **1950** when he met **Catherine Louise Shelburn**, a fellow student at **Atherton High School**. Their friendship blossomed into a lasting partnership as they graduated together and proceeded to the **University of Kentucky** in **Lexington**.

At the university, Currie pursued a **Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering**, graduating in **1956**. He was actively involved in campus life, joining the **Air Force ROTC** and pledging **Phi Delta Theta** fraternity. His commitment to the university remained strong throughout his life; he was a loyal supporter of the **UK Wildcats**, donning Kentucky Blue and contributing to athletic programs.

In **1961**, Currie founded **Currie Aerospace Associates**, an independent sales organization representing national electronics manufacturers. What began in a small office within their rented home in **Lake Conway Estates** grew into a successful enterprise, later renamed **Currie, Peak, and Frazier, Inc.** Under his leadership, the company expanded to employ **36 people**, showcasing Currie’s entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his profession.

Currie’s personal life was equally rich. He was a devoted husband to **Catherine Currie** and a proud father to two sons, **Scott Currie** of **Mosier, Oregon**, and **Beau Currie** of **Windermere, Florida**. He cherished his five grandchildren, encouraging their educational pursuits and sharing his passion for understanding how things work.
