Jewish Federation of Cleveland Raises Record $39 Million for Community
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland has achieved a remarkable milestone by raising a record $39,035,018 for its 2026 Campaign for Jewish Needs. This impressive total came from 9,036 gifts contributed by 12,094 donors. The Campaign is vital for ensuring that the local Jewish community remains safe, strong, vibrant, and welcoming while also addressing the needs of the global Jewish population.
The funds raised during this Campaign will support essential services and programs that benefit individuals and families in the community. The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation played a significant role by matching all new donations dollar for dollar, as well as matching any increases of 10 percent or more made between September 7 and November 1. In addition, Brunswick Companies contributed an additional $1,000 for each donor who upgraded their giving level during a Campaign event.
The Campaign’s success was celebrated at the Campaign Closing event, held at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland on December 8. During the event, general Campaign chair Amir Jaffa emphasized the collective effort behind the Campaign, stating, “This Campaign isn’t the work of one person, but of an entire community standing shoulder to shoulder, showing up for one another and choosing, once again, to build a stronger Jewish future together.” He expressed gratitude for the community’s generosity, highlighting how every contribution translates into safety, dignity, compassion, and hope for those in need.
The Closing event featured a special guest, Eli Sharabi, an Israeli author and hostage survivor who spent 491 days in captivity with Hamas. Sharabi shared insights from his bestselling memoir, “Hostage,” which recounts his story of resilience and hope. The event also recognized Allison Brandon, who received the 2025 Ambassador Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf Young Campaigner of the Year Award. Brandon was acknowledged for her commitment to community service and her efforts as co-chair of the Young Leadership Division Campaign.
Jaffa’s leadership over the past two years was also commended. Jeffrey J. Wild, Chair of the Federation Board, praised Jaffa for providing vision and guidance during challenging times. He remarked, “Amir led our community’s annual Campaign with clarity, courage, and heart during one of the most challenging moments our community has faced.”
The impact of this Campaign extends beyond financial contributions; it fosters a sense of unity and purpose within the community. The Jewish Federation of Cleveland continues to pave the way for a stronger future through its annual fundraising efforts.
