Marin Churches Offer Diverse Religious Events Throughout Week
Religious institutions across Marin County are hosting a variety of services and events throughout the week, catering to a diverse community. From traditional liturgies to contemporary prayer sessions, residents can engage in spiritual practices suited to their beliefs and preferences.
Weekly Religious Services in Marin
On Sundays, the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church invites attendees to join the Sunday Lauds at 9 a.m., followed by the Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m.. These services are conducted both in person at 102 Ross Ave. in San Anselmo and online via YouTube at stnicholasmarin.org.
In Mill Valley, the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church holds its Mass at 7:45 a.m. on Mondays at 3 Oakdale Ave.. Participants can join in person or watch the service live on Facebook through facebook.com/mountcarmelmv.

Specialized Programs and Events
Throughout the week, Marin’s religious communities also conduct specialized programs. The Praktikos Meditation Circle offers mindfulness meditation sessions at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Zoom, utilizing chants and Tibetan singing bowls. Interested participants can email [email protected] for access.
For those seeking in-depth theological study, the Bible study sessions at the Trinity Community Church in San Rafael take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. This gathering allows participants to explore scripture in a communal setting. Additionally, the Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living hosts a prayer and meditation service at 7:15 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month via Zoom.
For families, the Novato United Methodist Church provides Sunday services at 10 a.m., which include children’s Sunday school and nursery care. This service is conducted both in person at 1473 South Novato Blvd. and online.
As the week progresses, the Islamic Center of North Marin invites the community to join Friday prayer at 1:30 p.m. at 7078 Redwood Blvd. in Novato.
