Community Mourns the Loss of Shelley K. Sullivan at 55

Shelley K. Sullivan, a beloved member of her community, passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2025, after a brief but aggressive battle with cancer. Her sudden departure at the age of 55 has left family and friends in deep mourning. The news of her passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences and tributes from those whose lives she touched.

Born in South Bend, Washington, Shelley was the eldest child of Jack C. Horne and Brenda (Williamson) Seifert. When she was just two months old, her family relocated to Pullman, a college town that would become a significant part of her life. Shelley maintained strong ties to her hometown, forming lasting friendships during her time at Pullman High School and participating in numerous reunions and gatherings.

In the early 1990s, Shelley fell in love with George Lin, and they married in 1996. Their marriage was short-lived, leading Shelley to focus on her education and pursue a nursing degree. While working at a Starbucks in Spokane, she met Shaun Sullivan, whom she married on March 17, 2007. Their love and partnership remained strong until her passing.

Shelley graduated from Washington State University with a nursing degree in May 2009. Her career in healthcare reflected her adventurous spirit and deep compassion for others. She was known for her caring demeanor, which extended to everyone she met, including family, friends, and new acquaintances.

Family was at the heart of Shelley’s life. She cherished her role as an aunt to her beloved nephews and nieces, as well as her dogs, whom she often referred to as her “crew.” Her nurturing nature and generous spirit endeared her to all who knew her.

Shelley is survived by her husband, Shaun Sullivan; her mother, Brenda (Dan); her father, Jack (Marcy); and her siblings, including Tricia (Greg) James and Jill Seifert. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces, including Jordie and Aron James, and her beloved dogs, Rizzi, Bella, and Sophia.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on January 17, 2026, at Pullman Presbyterian Church, located at 1630 NE Stadium Way in Pullman. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to causes that were special to Shelley.
