Significant changes are on the horizon for the reality series Married at First Sight as it prepares for its upcoming 20th season. Three prominent experts, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Holec, have announced their departure from the show. This transition sets the stage for a new expert panel as the series aims to revitalize its format.

The announcement comes from Peacock, the network that airs the series. In a statement to Variety, Chris Coelen, founder and CEO of Kinetic Content, expressed enthusiasm for the changes. “We’re thrilled to be embarking on a brand new chapter of the MAFS journey with our partners at Peacock. We’re excited for the future and honored to have worked alongside Dr. Pepper, Pastor Cal, and Dr. Pia.”

Reflecting on their time with the show, Coelen acknowledged the lasting impact of the departing experts. “Dr. Pepper has been with us from the beginning and Pastor Cal joined us shortly thereafter; their unwavering wisdom, insight, and passion has been a guiding light for us throughout the seasons.”

Dr. Pepper Schwartz, a fixture on the series since its inception in 2014, expressed pride in the accomplishments of the franchise. “As I step away, I do so with immense pride in what this franchise has accomplished and deep confidence in its future,” she stated, adding that she leaves with “gratitude and optimism.”

Pastor Cal also shared his sentiments, thanking participants for their trust during pivotal moments in their lives. He noted that his exit symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter. “Your courage, honesty, and willingness to believe in the process reminded me time and again why this work matters,” he remarked.

Dr. Pia Holec highlighted her fond memories from her time on the show, stating that her decision to leave was motivated by a desire to focus on her family. “I genuinely loved my time on Married at First Sight, and working alongside franchise OGs turned friends, like Dr. Pepper and Pastor Cal. I’m proud of the time we’ve spent with each person who so bravely took this step in finding love,” she said.

As Season 20 approaches, fans can expect a fresh perspective with the introduction of new experts. The season is anticipated to premiere in 2026. This change marks a pivotal moment in the show’s history as it continues to explore the complexities of love and relationships in a reality television format.
