Doug Bowser Joins Hasbro Board of Directors After Nintendo Tenure
Doug Bowser, the former President of Nintendo of America, has taken on a new role as a member of the Hasbro Board of Directors. His appointment follows his departure from Nintendo on December 31, 2025, where he transitioned the leadership role to Devon Pritchard, the company’s former executive vice president of sales, marketing, and communications.
The announcement of Bowser’s new position was made earlier this week through a press release on Hasbro’s investor relations website. Hasbro expressed enthusiasm about Bowser’s addition to the board, highlighting his extensive experience in business and marketing. Alongside Bowser, Carla Vernón, CEO of The Honest Company, also joined the board, with both individuals commencing their roles immediately.
Bowser’s Legacy at Nintendo
Bowser’s tenure at Nintendo began in April 2019, during which he navigated the company through several significant events, including the challenges posed by the global COVID-19 pandemic. His leadership was pivotal during the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, one of the major milestones for the company. Pritchard’s appointment marks a new chapter for Nintendo as Bowser steps into his new role.
Before his time at Nintendo, Bowser accumulated over 23 years of experience at Procter & Gamble, where he honed his expertise in various areas of marketing and business strategy. Hasbro acknowledged this rich background, emphasizing the value Bowser brings to the table as the company seeks to strengthen its market position.
Future Prospects at Hasbro
As Bowser embarks on this new journey with Hasbro, the industry will be watching closely to see how his insights and leadership will influence the company. His experience in the gaming and entertainment sectors may provide a unique perspective as Hasbro continues to innovate and expand its offerings.
With 2026 now underway, Bowser’s transition from a leading figure at Nintendo to an influential role at Hasbro signals an exciting new chapter for both him and the company. As the year progresses, updates on Bowser’s contributions to Hasbro will likely reveal how his strategic vision will shape the company’s future initiatives.
