The short interest in the Nuveen AMT-Free Municipal Value Fund (NYSE: NUW) experienced a significant increase of 23.0% during December 2023. As of December 31, short interest reached a total of 32,652 shares, up from 26,536 shares on December 15. Additionally, Jones Financial Companies Lllp increased its holdings by an impressive 109.4%, purchasing 93,889 shares to bring its total to 179,715 shares, valued at approximately $2.52 million. In a move to enter the market, Smartleaf Asset Management LLC acquired a new stake in the fund valued at $1.69 million during the second quarter.
