Actress Evangeline Lilly, 46, has opened up about her recovery process following a brain injury she sustained in May 2025. The incident occurred when she fainted at the beach, resulting in a concussion after hitting her head against a boulder. Lilly’s experience highlights the challenges of addressing cognitive decline as she embarks on an intensive treatment regimen.

In a recent post on Instagram, Lilly revealed that her treatment plan has already incurred significant expenses. She stated, “I have spent a lot of money getting evaluated and getting targeted, expert advice on how to heal my brain.” The actress emphasized that while her regimen was tailored to her needs, it may not be suitable for everyone.

Details of the Treatment Plan

Lilly’s approach includes a variety of supplements designed to support brain health. Among these are phosphatidylserine, ginkgo biloba extract, and several other compounds, which she noted cost approximately $63. She expressed the importance of this treatment, especially in a healthcare landscape where affordable options are often limited.

“I will be on these supplements for a period of time that I feel is appropriate for the brain to get what it needs from them, and then I will go off of them,” Lilly explained. She has made it clear that she is not promoting any specific products or brands, stating, “I am not a doctor nor an authority on any of this.”

The clinics she has consulted, including the Amen Clinics, utilize advanced brain imaging technology to address various mental health conditions. These institutions focus on providing personalized treatment plans to improve cognitive function and overall well-being.

Raising Awareness and Sharing Experiences

Lilly’s candid discussion about her health challenges serves to raise awareness about brain injuries and their long-term effects. She shared her diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI), stating, “The verdict’s in…I do have brain damage from my TBI.” This revelation underscores her ongoing struggle with cognitive decline, which she initially attributed to perimenopause.

As she navigates her recovery, Lilly has reflected on the importance of nutrition. She mentioned her goal of obtaining essential vitamins and minerals through a balanced diet rather than relying solely on supplements. “I try really hard to eat well so that my food is my nutrients, not my supplements,” she noted.

Lilly’s story resonates with many individuals facing similar health concerns, emphasizing the need for open conversations about brain health. By sharing her experience, she hopes to encourage others to seek help and explore available treatment options, despite the financial burden they may entail.

As her journey continues, Lilly remains committed to her recovery while advocating for greater awareness of the challenges associated with brain injuries.
