Former OnlyFans Model Kendra Bates Joins TLC’s “Suddenly Amish”
URGENT UPDATE: Kendra Bates, a 33-year-old former OnlyFans model and dancer, has left Los Angeles to immerse herself in the Amish lifestyle as part of TLC’s new reality series, “Suddenly Amish.” This groundbreaking show, which debuted on Tuesdays at 10 p.m., follows Bates and five others as they abandon modern comforts for a life in rural Pennsylvania.
Bates, who has openly struggled with her faith, described this opportunity as a “no-brainer” and a chance to reconnect with her Christian roots. “This is literally an opportunity from God,” Bates told Fox News Digital. Having spent nearly a decade in LA, she sought a drastic change from what she called a “superficial, dirty” environment.
The premise of “Suddenly Amish” centers around outsiders, known as “English,” entering Amish communities, guided by a man identified as Bishop Vernon. This unique format aims to challenge traditional Amish customs by documenting their experiences as a social experiment.
Reflecting on her past, Bates acknowledged a life filled with struggles, including binge-drinking and a lack of self-respect. “I felt like I was losing myself,” she said. After being baptized in January 2025, her desire to explore the Amish way of life grew, believing it could offer her valuable lessons.
Bates also noted that her family has historical ties to the Mennonite community, which shares some beliefs with the Amish. “I wanted to get back to small roots again,” she shared, emphasizing her curiosity about Amish traditions, particularly their more modest lifestyle.
However, the transition has not been without challenges. In the show’s first episode, Bates faced scrutiny for her revealing clothing, prompting Bishop Vernon to question her sense of modesty. “When he was talking to me, I thought, ‘He’s slut-shaming me,’” Bates recalled. She later realized he was trying to engage her in a meaningful conversation about her choices.
Despite the difficulties, Bates expressed that her journey on the show is genuine. “I no longer struggle with the fact that I did OnlyFans because I’m learning the grace and forgiveness of God,” she stated, highlighting her transformation and commitment to living a life aligned with her faith.
As “Suddenly Amish” continues to air, viewers can expect to see Bates navigate her new life, shedding old habits and embracing a more spiritually fulfilling existence. “Am I a perfect Christian? Absolutely not,” she reflected, “but my values and how I carry myself are different.”
Stay tuned for the latest updates as Kendra Bates embarks on this life-changing journey in the Amish community, challenging both herself and the viewers’ perceptions of faith, identity, and redemption.
